BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis team will head to South Carolina this weekend to compete in a pair of matches against the College of Charleston and Charleston Southern.
After three matches last week, the Bulldogs improved their overall record to 7-6 with two wins and one loss. The College of Charleston will enter the weekend with a record of 3-6
, while Charleston Southern has a current record of 3-3. The Buccaneers will face Campbell and Liberty before taking the court against Samford.

BULLDOGS TO WATCH:
- Rouxanne Janse Van Rensburg continues to be a Bulldog to watch with nine wins at the No. 1 spot. This past weekend, Van Rensburg was the only Samford player to register a win in singles action against Tulane. She defeated her opponent, Mary Caroline Meredith, in straight sets, 6-3, 7-5, for the lone victory.
- Doubles duo, Alexis Lopez and Rouxanne Janse Van Rensburg, added two more wins at the No. 1 spot this past week against Troy and Bellarmine. They now sit at 6-2 on the season to lead the Bulldogs.
OPPONENT QUICK LOOKS:
- The College of Charleston sits at a current record of 3-6 on its season. The Cougars have captured wins against Presbyterian, North Carolina A&T, and South Carolina State. Kate Earnhardt has earned the most wins for the College of Charleston with a total of four. She has seen two wins at the No. 3 spot and one at both the No. 2 and 4 spots.
- Charleston Southern has recorded three win and three losses. The Buccaneers earned their victories against Georgia Southern, Gardner-Webb, and Stetson. The also saw one of their losses against fellow conference school, Wofford, by a score of 4-3 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Madalina Man is a standout out player for Charleston Southern with a record of 2-0 at the No. 1 spot and 1-1 at the No. 2 spot.
