BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The top-seeded Samford University volleyball team will open play in the Southern Conference Tournament by taking on the fourth-seeded Wofford Terriers Friday at 4 p.m. at the Pete Hanna Center.
Samford won a share of the Southern Conference regular-season title with a record of 13-3, all in SoCon play, following a 3-2 win over The Citadel Monday evening. This marks the second-straight SoCon regular-season championship for Samford. Wofford has a mark of 10-6, also all in league play. The Terriers are coming off a 3-0 loss at Western Carolina last Thursday. The winner of the Samford-Wofford match will advance to Saturday's 4 p.m. championship match against either Mercer or Western Carolina.
