AUBURN, Ala. – The Samford track and field team is set to travel to in-state opponent Auburn, for the 2021 War Eagle Invite, Friday and Saturday.
Samford is coming off their first three-day meet of the season at Alabama's Crimson Tide Invite where the Bulldogs had 11 personal records, including a program record in the women's discus throw from
Maggie Johnston with a mark of 51.99 meters.
The Bulldogs will kick off competition on Friday with the women's hammer throw at 2 p.m. at the Hutsell-Rosen Track. The running events coming later in the day beginning with the women's 1500-meter run, with the men to follow. The women's pole vault will get the field events going on Saturday at 11:00 a.m., with the running events starting at noon with the 4x100-meter relays.

BULLDOGS TO WATCH:
- Ty Kimberlin was in great form in the men's decathlon finishing fourth overall at the Crimson Tide Invite with 6675 points, moving into fourth position on the Bulldogs' all-time list.
- Mia Milasinovic had a strong showing in the women's heptathlon finishing 9th overall with a personal best of 4533 points, placing Milasinovic sixth all-time for the Bulldogs in the event.
- Mary Grace Strozier posted a season best time in the women's 1500-meter run 4:29.66.
- Allison Nelson finished the women's 1500-meter run with a personal best time of 4:30.21.
- Harper McGowan also had a personal best time in the women's 1500-meter run crossing the line in 4:35.83.
- Maggie Johnston had a record-breaking day for the Bulldogs in the women's discus throw with a mark of 51.99 meters. Johnston moved into first place on Samford's all-time list breaking her own school record she set in 2019.
- Michael McMahan had a personal best in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 13.81, McMahan also brought home points for the Bulldogs with a second-place finish in the men's 400-meter hurdles.
- Tally Wilson brought home the bronze for the Bulldogs in the women's pole vault with a mark of 3.97 meters.
- Makenzie Hooton, a freshman, posted a personal best jump of 1.70 meters in the womens high jump, placing seventh overall in the event.
- Aiya Finch set a personal record in the women's long jump with a jump of 5.65 meters.
- Amanda Dumar added to the Bulldogs personal record tally with a fourth-place finish in the women's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.40.
- Erin Long set a new freshman record in the women's javelin throw with a mark of 40.570 meters. The throw was a new collegiate best for Long, and moved her into third position all-time for the Bulldogs.
- Edwin Rainey had a personal best in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.95 meters.
- Kaitlyn Cole also set a personal record in the women's 200-meter dash finishing eleventh overall with a time of 24.55.
- Benjamin Garner earned the bronze in the men's 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 9:12.26 which topped his previous personal best and moved him into fifth position all-time in the event.
- Justin Stuckey continued to an outstanding season for the Bulldogs in the men's high jump with a second-place finish with a leap of 2.14 meters.
- Relays: The Bulldogs had strong performances in the 4x100-meter relays with the men's squad made up of Titus Moore, Emmanuel Tait, Corey McDaniels and Evan Brooks posted a time of 41.55 which ranks fourth all-time at Samford; while the women's team posted a time of 47.09 with Hannah Lueders, Vada Samuels, Amanda Dumar and Kaitlyn Cole now ranking third all-time in Bulldog history.
