th inning to give the Bulldog baseball team a 7-6 win in the second game of a doubleheader at ETSU Friday at Thomas Stadium. The Bulldogs dropped the first game of the doubleheader by a score of 7-3.

Chase Isbell kept the Bucs scoreless in the bottom of the 10
th to close out the win. With the win, Samford earns the No. 2 seed in the upcoming SoCon Tournament. The Bulldogs will play No. 3-seeded Mercer Thursday, May 27 at 6 p.m. (CT) at Fluor Field in Greenville, S.C.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- ETSU jumped out to an early lead when Kyle Richardson hit a grand slam to left field in the bottom of the first inning to give the Bucs a 4-0 lead.
- Samford came back with two runs in the top of the second inning to cut the lead to 4-2. Tyler McManus scored the first run when Ayrton Schafer grounded into a double play. Will David then singled to drive in Kaden Dreier to bring Samford to within two runs.
- In the bottom of the second inning, ETSU's Ethan Cady hit a two-run home run, and Bryce Hodge hit a solo homer to push the Bucs' lead to 7-2.
- In the top of the third, Ryan Crockett singled to left field to drive in Brooks Carlson to make the score 7-3.
ON THE MOUND
- Jesse McCord (3-6) pitched 2.0 innings, giving up seven runs on five hits to take the loss for Samford.
- Jalon Long pitched the final 6.0 innings for Samford, allowing just one hit and striking out eight batters.
- Colby Stuart (6-1) tossed 7.0 innings, giving up three runs on six hits to earn the win for ETSU.
NOTABLES
- Crockett and David drove in a run each to lead Samford, offensively.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- ETSU took an early lead when Ashton King scored on a ground out by Cady in the bottom of the first inning for a 1-0 Buc lead.
- Samford came back with two runs in the top of the third inning. David scored from third base when Max Pinto reached on a fielder's choice. Carlson then tripled to left-center field to drive in Pinto for a 2-1 Samford lead.
- In the bottom of the third inning, ETSU's Hodge hit a home run to center field to knot the score at 2-2.
- Samford took the lead again in the top of the fourth inning when the Bulldogs plated three runs to take a 5-2 lead. David singled to drive in Towns King. Colton Ledbetter then tripled to drive in David and Howe for a three-run Samford lead.
- ETSU's King and Cady hit back-to-back solo home runs to lead off the bottom of the fifth inning to cut the lead to 5-4.
- The Bucs came back with two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take a 6-5 lead. Hodge and Sean Kearney drove in a run each to give ETSU the advantage.
- Ryan Crockett hit a solo home run for Samford in the top of the eighth inning to tie the game at 6-6.
- In the top of the 10th inning, Howe doubled to left-center field to drive in David for a 7-6 Samford lead.
ON THE MOUND
- Isbell (3-2) pitched 3.0 innings in relief, giving up no runs on two hits and striking out six batters to earn the win for the Bulldogs.
- Matthew Mercer (1-3) tossed 2.0 innings, allowing one run on two hits to take the loss for the Bucs.

- Ledbetter led Samford at the plate, going 4-for-5 with a double, a triple and two RBI.
- Howe went 3-for-5 with a double and an RBI for the Bulldogs.
