Men’s Basketball Continues Road Stretch at UCF Sunday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford Men's Basketball team will play its second of five-consecutive road contests on Sunday, Dec. 4 at the University of Central Florida.

Tip-off from Orlando, Fla. is set for 1:00 p.m., with the contest streaming live on ESPN+.

Sunday's matchup is the 24th meeting between UCF and Samford, with the Bulldogs holding a 17-6 series advantage. It will be the first meeting between the Bulldogs and Knights since the 2001-02 season when both teams competed in the ASUN Conference.

Samford is off to a 6-3 start through nine games, including a mark of 5-2 at home. The Bulldogs are averaging 86.2 points, 41.8 rebounds, a 46 percent field-goal efficiency, and a +16-scoring margin.

The Bulldogs fought tooth and nail at Big East foe DePaul on Wednesday, falling 103-98 in overtime to the Blue Demons in a game that featured 16 lead changes and 16 tied scores.

Logan Dye led the way for Samford with a career-high 23 points on a 10-19 shooting night. Dye also added seven rebounds. Bubba Parham logged his first career double-double as a Bulldog, finishing with 17 points and 10 boards. Parham fell just three assists shy of a triple-double, registering seven in the game.

Five different Bulldogs are currently averaging in double figures, with Ques Glover's 13.8 PPG leading the squad. Jermaine Marshall (11.8 PPG), Dye (11.3 PPG), Jaden Campbell (11.1 PPG), and Parham (10 PPG) all bring with them a double-digit scoring average into Sunday.

Central Florida (5-2) dropped a tightly contested 66-64 contest against Miami their last time out on Sunday, Nov. 27. Darius Johnson led the Knights with a 24-point performance while Brandon Suggs added 11 points and seven rebounds in the setback.

The Knights are led on offense by Taylor Hendricks, who comes into the contest averaging a team-best 14.7 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. Johnson is also averaging in double figures, with a rate of 13 points per contest in two games played this season.
