BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford men's basketball team (19-9, 9-7 SoCon) will host Furman (19-10, 11-5 SoCon) for Senior Day Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. in the Pete Hanna Center. The game can be seen live on ESPN+ with Blake Gardner (PBP), Boyd Kaiser (Color) and Eric Biancalana (Sideline) calling the action. Live stats will also be available at www.SamfordSports.com.
- Samford has won eight of its last nine games. The Bulldogs are one win away from reaching 20 wins in the regular season for the first time since 1998-99 and just the third time in its Division I history.
- Samford's nine conference wins are tied for the most in a season since joining the SoCon. Samford previously won nine games in 2008-09 and in 2012-13.
- Samford and Furman are meeting for the 32nd time, with Furman holding a 22-9 advantage in the series. The teams met earlier this season in Greenville, S.C., with Furman taking an 81-49 win on Dec. 29.
- Samford is coming into the game off a 76-74 win over The Citadel Monday evening. Ques Glover led Samford with 26 points and five assists. Jermaine Marshall posted his 10th double-double of the season, scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Logan Dye also had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
- Samford has been led in scoring so far this season by sophomore guard Ques Glover, who ranks second in the Southern Conference with an average of 19.3 points per game. Glover ranks second in the SoCon in assists per game (4.4) and sixth in free throw percentage (.826). Jermaine Marshall ranks third in the SoCon in rebounding, grabbing 8.1 boards per contest.
- Furman enters Wednesday night's contest with a mark of 19-10 overall and 11-5 in SoCon play. The Paladins are coming off a 70-69 win over Wofford Saturday.
- Furman has been led so far this season by Mike Bothwell, averaging 15.2 points per game. Jalen Slawson averages 15.1 points and a team-high 7.7 rebounds per game.
- Furman is averaging 77.8 points per game so far this season, while allowing 68.8 points per contest.
- Samford is averaging 75.6 points per game while also giving up 74.4 entering Wednesday night's game against Furman.
- Samford has a record of 12-2 in home games so far this season. The Bulldogs have earned home court wins over Maryville, Spring Hill, Mississippi College, Alabama A&M, Kennesaw State, Western Carolina, Mercer, Chattanooga, Wofford, VMI, UNCG and The Citadel. The two home court losses have come to Belmont and ETSU.
- Samford is No. 1 in the SoCon in turnovers forced per game (14.1) and No. 2 in steals per game (7.7). The Bulldogs forced a season-high 33 turnovers versus Spring Hill.
- Samford has made a habit of winning close games, posting a record of 7-3 in games decided by three points or less. The Bulldogs are 2-0 in overtime games this season.
- The Bulldogs are 14-1 when leading at halftime this season and 13-4 on the year when controlling the opening tipoff.
- Samford's bench has outscored the opposition's reserves 18 times this season, leading to a 14-4 mark in those contests.
- Mr. Double-Double Jermaine Marshall (6-6, 225, So.) recorded his 10th double-double this season with 15 points and 10 boards in Samford's 76-74 win over The Citadel. The 10 double-doubles rank second in the SoCon this season behind VMI's Jake Stephens with 11. The Akron transfer has been a force on the wing for the Bulldogs, averaging 12.5 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.
- Ques Glover (6-0, 180, So.) has made a remarkable impact on the Bulldogs so far this year, ranking No. 2 in the SoCon in scoring at 19.3 points per game while ranking second in the SoCon in assists at 4.4 per game. The Knoxville, Tenn., native, scored a career-high 30 points in Samford's game at The Citadel.
- Jaden Campbell (6-5, 195, Soph.) has been a major spark for the Bulldogs, averaging 10.1 points per game, ranking 28th in the Southern Conference. The Brampton, Ontario native had a big game in Samford's 77-74 win at ETSU, contributing 15 points to the win.
- Jacob Tryon (6-11, 220, Sr.) has continued to be a presence down low for Samford this season. Tryon is currently tied for sixth in the Southern Conference in blocked shots per game, averaging 1.0 per contest. He had four blocked shots in the Bulldogs' 65-60 overtime win over Wofford.
- In the last meeting between Samford and Furman, played on Dec. 29, in Greenville, S.C., the Paladins took an 81-49 win over Samford. Jaden Campbell led Samford in the loss, scoring 15 points. Logan Dye had eight points for the Bulldogs. Furman was led by Mike Bothwell with 18 points.
