BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford men's basketball team (14-8, 4-6 SoCon) will travel to Charleston, S.C., to take on The Citadel Bulldogs (9-12, 3-7 SoCon) Saturday at 12 p.m. (CT) at McCalister Fieldhouse. The game can be seen live on ESPN+ with Kyle West (PBP) and Jason Kempf (Color) calling the action. Live stats will also be available at www.CitadelSports.com.
- Samford and The Citadel are meeting for the 26th time, with Samford owning a 13-12 series lead. The teams did not meet in the COVID-shortened 2020-21 season. The last meeting came on Feb. 15, 2020, with Samford earning a 74-62 win in Charleston, S.C.
- The Bulldogs are coming into the game off an 80-71 win over league-leading Chattanooga Wednesday evening in the Pete Hanna Center. For Samford in the win, Ques Glover led the way with 20 points. Logan Dye posted his first career double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Jermaine Marshall and Jaden Campbell added 13 points each for the Bulldogs.
- Samford has been led in scoring so far this season by sophomore guard Ques Glover, who ranks fourth in the Southern Conference with an average of 17.8 points per game. Glover leads the SoCon in free throw percentage (.883) and ranks second in assists (4.3 apg.). Jermaine Marshall ranks third in the SoCon in rebounding, grabbing 7.8 boards per contest.
- The Citadel enters Saturday's game with a mark of 9-12 overall and 3-7 in SoCon play. The Bulldogs are coming off a 102-83 loss at Furman Wednesday evening. Jason Roche led The Citadel in the loss with 22 points. Stephen Clark tallied 16 points and six rebounds, while Rudy Fitzgibbons III followed with 11 points for The Citadel.
- The Citadel has been led in scoring by Hayden Brown, averaging 18.2 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Jason Roche scores 13.8 points per game for The Citadel, while Stephen Clark averages 11.1 points per game.
- The Citadel is averaging 78.4 points per game so far this season, while allowing 76.1 points per contest.
- Samford is averaging 75.0 points per game while also giving up 73.7 entering Saturday afternoon's game at The Citadel.
- Samford has a record of 4-6 in games played on the road so far this season. The Bulldogs have earned road victories over Oregon State, Alabama State, Ole Miss and Western Carolina. Samford has fallen on the road to San Francisco, Furman, Mercer, Wofford, VMI and UNC Greensboro.
- Samford is No. 1 in the SoCon in turnovers forced per game (14.9) and No. 2 in steals per game (8.0). The Bulldogs forced a season-high 33 turnovers versus Spring Hill.

- Mr. Double-Double Jermaine Marshall (6-6, 225, So.) recorded his seventh double-double this season with 14 points and 11 boards in Samford's 85-60 win over Western Carolina. The Akron transfer has been a force on the wing for the Bulldogs, averaging 11.9 points and 8.6 rebounds per game.
- Ques Glover (6-0, 180, So.) has made a remarkable impact on the Bulldogs so far this year, ranking No. 4 the SoCon in scoring at 17.8 points per game while ranking second in the SoCon in assists at 4.3 per game. The Knoxville, Tenn., native, scored 20 points in the team's 80-71 win over Chattanooga.
- Jaden Campbell (6-5, 195, Soph.) has been a major spark for the Bulldogs, averaging 10.9 points per game, ranking 24th in the Southern Conference. The Brampton, Ontario native had a big game in last week's 75-61 win over Mercer, contributing 14 points to the win.
- Wesley Cardet, Jr. (6-6, 205, Fr.), one of the nation's most sought after recruits, continues to develop as the season progresses. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native is averaging 8.8 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. He had 14 points in last week's win over Mercer. Cardet was the No. 60 ranked player in the nation and No. 13 at his position by Rivals at West Oaks.
- Jacob Tryon (6-11, 220, Sr.) has continued to be a presence down low for Samford this season. Tryon currently ranks sixth in the Southern Conference in blocked shots per game, averaging 1.0 per contest.
