BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford Volleyball team will trek to Kennesaw, Ga. on Tuesday, Sept. 6 to take on the Kennesaw State Owls.
 
Tuesday's 5:30 p.m. contest will be streamed live on ESPN+.
 
Samford Volleyball (3-3) posted a perfect 3-0 record over the course of last weekend. The Bulldogs notched a pair of 3-1 wins against Little Rock and UAB while sweeping Jackson State 3-0 in the UAB Open.
 
On the attacking side, Kenya McQuirter led the Bulldogs with 40 kills and an average of 3.64 kills per set over the weekend. Lauren Deaton recorded 39 kills for an average of 3.55 per set while Gracie Lynn Butler finished with 38 kills for a mark of 3.45 per set.
 
 On Monday, Sept. 5 Deaton was named the SoCon Offensive Player of the week. The Memphis, Tenn. native clinched the accolade with a 20-kill, 13-dig performance while hitting .348 in the Bulldogs' 3-1 win at UAB on Sunday, Sept. 4. Deaton currently leads both the Bulldogs and SoCon with an average of 3.80 kills per set.
 
On the defensive side, Kate Morgan leads Samford and ranks fifth in the SoCon with an average of 3.70 digs per set. The sophomore libero matched a career-high with 27 digs in her most recent performance at UAB
 
Junior setter Kayla Keshock leads the SoCon with an average of 10.15 assists per set. She is currently the lone player averaging double-digit assists per set in the conference.
 
The Bulldogs come into the week leading the SoCon and ranking 13th nationally in services aces per set at 2.35. Andie Salasky and Keshock both lead the squad with 12 aces and an average of 0.60 aces per set.
 
Kennesaw State comes into the matchup with a record of 4-1. The Owls picked up a pair of 3-0 wins over Furman and High Point University this past weekend.
 
The Bulldogs hold an all-time record of 3-3 against Kennesaw State. Samford fell 3-0 to the Owls in their most recent meeting on Sept. 14 of the 2021 season.
