BATON ROUGE, La. – Members of the Samford women's tennis team traveled to LSU to compete in the ITA Southern Regional, Thursday through Sunday.
 
In singles qualifying, Margaret Jaraczewski posted a record of 2-1, while Meredith Taylor went 1-1. In singles main draw, Emily Surcey claimed a 2-6, 6-2, 7-6 win over Tereza Dejnozkova from South Alabama, going 1-1 in the main draw. Noelle Mauro, Alex Lopez and Ally Hayduk also competed for Samford in the singles main draw. In consolation singles, Hayduk and Jaraczewski both picked up wins.
 
Lopez and Mauro went 2-0 in doubles qualifying, while Jaraczewski and Surcey went 1-1. In the doubles main draw, Lopez and Mauro earned an 8-0 win over Carla Urchoeguia and Jenaila Prulla from Louisiana-Lafayette, finishing with a 1-1 record in the doubles main draw.
 
Samford will host the second of two Samford Round Robin tournaments, Oct. 13-15, at the Samford Tennis Center. Admission to the tournament is FREE. A full list of Samford's results from this weekend's tournament is listed below.
