2024 BASEBALL SCHEDULE

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Games against SEC foes Auburn, Alabama, Mississippi State and Kentucky highlight the Samford baseball team's 2024 schedule, released Monday by head coach Tony David.
 
"The 2024 version is another very challenging slate for our guys and program," David said. "The schedule has some new faces and opponents this season from outside the state as well. The schedule needs to push our guys in their development and growth throughout the season, help attract the type of student-athlete recruits we need and be filled with the type of opponents that give us a shot at an at large bid if we do not finish things off in the SoCon Tournament. While last season ended with the conference championship, I think our guys left the field feeling we could have done more. I want to do everything in my power to give us the best chance to be playing as deep into the summer as possible in postseason play, to get to another regional and hopefully beyond. We feel this schedule accomplishes that objective."
 
Samford opens the 2024 season by hosting Queens University in a three-game series, Feb. 16-18. After a home midweek game against Jacksonville State (Feb. 20), the Bulldogs will hit the road for the first time for a series at Central Florida, Feb. 23-25, followed by a midweek game at Auburn on Feb. 27.
 
Samford then returns home for a four-game series against Bellarmine, Mar. 1-3. After a midweek game at North Alabama (Mar. 5), Samford will host Charleston Southern in a three-game weekend series, Mar. 8-10. Next up is a four-game series at Purdue (Mar. 15-17), followed by a game at in-state rival Jacksonville State (Mar. 19).
 
The Bulldogs will open Southern Conference play with a home series against VMI, Mar. 22-24. Samford will then host Mississippi State in a midweek game, Mar. 26, followed by a home series against Longwood, Mar. 29-30.
 
Samford will then host Alabama, Apr. 2, before returning to SoCon play with a series at The Citadel, Apr. 5-7. The Bulldogs will next welcome yet another SEC team to Joe Lee Griffin Field when Samford hosts Kentucky on Apr. 9.
 
Next up is a home SoCon series with ETSU, Apr. 12-14, and then the Bulldogs will host Troy in a midweek contest, Apr. 16. After a series at Western Carolina, Apr. 19-21, Samford will play at Alabama, Apr. 23. Samford's final non-conference weekend series will come with a home series against Liberty, Apr. 26-28.
 
Samford will host a three-game SoCon series with Mercer, May 3-5. After a home game with North Alabama (May 7), the Bulldogs will travel to UNC Greensboro for a SoCon series, May 10-12.
 
Samford will then host Auburn in a game at the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium, May 14. The team will then wrap up the regular season with a SoCon series at home against Wofford, May 16-18.
 
The Southern Conference Tournament is scheduled for May 22-26, at Fluor Field in Greenville, S.C.
