BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The playoff race for the 2023 NFL season is heating up with former members of the Samford football team on three active rosters and one on a practice squad.
Past Samford standouts James Bradberry is on the Eagles, Nick Williams is with the Chargers and Michael Peirce plays for the Ravens. Montrell Washington was promoted to of the Chiefs' active roster for Week 12 but was added by to the Chiefs practice squad before Week 13.
James Bradberry (Samford - 2012-15)
Week 15 Schedule: Eagles at Eagles (Monday, 7:15 p.m. CT)
Former Bulldog great and All-Pro cornerback James Bradberry had five tackles as the Eagles dropped a 33-13 contest to the Cowboys.
Nick Williams (Samford - 2008-12)
Week 15 Schedule: Chargers at Raiders (Thursday, 7:15 p.m. CT)
Nick Williams tallied a single tackle as the Chargers fell 24-7 to the Broncos.
Michael Pierce (Samford - 2013-15)
Week 15 Schedule: Ravens at Jaguars (Sunday, 7:20 p.m. CT)
Following the bye week, Michael Pierce had one tackle to aid the Ravens to a 37-31 victory over the Rams.
Montrell Washington (Samford - 2017-21)
Week 15 Schedule: Chiefs at Patriots (Sunday, 12 p.m. CT)
Montrell Washington was on the Chiefs' practice squad as Kansas City fell 20-17 in dramatic fashion to the Buffalo Bills.
