GAME NOTES--SAMFORD VS. LAGRANGE (PDF)

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Samford Bulldogs will play their seventh-straight home game when they host LaGrange College Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the Pete Hanna Center.
 
Samford and LaGrange have met just twice, with Samford winning both contests. Both previous meetings came during the 1965-66 season. Samford won the first meeting, 72-62 at home, and the second contest by a score of 71-60 on the road.
 
Samford enters the weekend with a mark of 6-2 on the young season. The Bulldogs hosted Louisiana Thursday evening in the Pete Hanna Center. The Bulldogs earned an 88-65 win over the Ragin' Cajuns to improve to 6-0 in home games this season.
 
So far this season, Samford has been led by junior Achor Achor, averaging 15.1 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, leading the team in both categories. Junior A.J. Staton-McCray is scoring 12.0 points per game and grabbing 4.5 boards per contest. Rylan Jones is averaging a team-high 4.3 assists per game.
 
Entering Sunday's game, Samford ranks in the top 25 in the nation in several categories. The Bulldogs rank in the top 25 in fastbreak points per game (8th-20.12 pg.), steals per game (12th-10.6 pg.), assists per game (17th-18.5) and turnovers forced per game (25th-16.62 pg.).
 
The LaGrange College Panthers enter Sunday's game with a record of 5-2 on the season. LaGrange is coming off a 91-69 loss to Barry College on Nov. 21. Prior to playing at Samford Sunday, LaGrange will play at Pensacola Christian on Saturday, Dec. 2.
 
LaGrange is led in scoring by Samuel Moss, averaging 15.2 points per game. Kameron McCall scores 10.4 points per game for the Panthers.
 
Following Sunday's game, the Bulldogs will remain at home to play host to Alabama A&M on Monday, Dec. 11, at 6:30 p.m. in the Pete Hanna Center.
