BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Brittany Bishop and Ty Kimberlin were both named SoCon Field Athletes of the Month for January, when the league released its monthly track and field honors on Friday afternoon.

Bishop has had a stellar start to her indoor season, winning the women's pole vault at the UAB Invitational and later taking home a second-place finish in the Samford Open. She is competing this weekend in the New Mexico Intercollegiate Classic in Albuquerque, NM.

Kimberlin has also gotten off to a strong start, winning the heptathlon in the Samford Multi en route to being named the SoCon Field Athlete of the Week and SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week on January 25. Kimberlin will next participate in the South Alabama Invite on Sunday.

The Bulldogs will host the Samford Bulldog Open and Samford Bulldog Classic at the Birmingham CrossPlex, next Friday and Saturday.
