BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford Men's Basketball Program announced the signings of Riley Allenspach and Josh Holloway on Wednesday, joining Lukas Walls to make up for the Bulldogs' 2023 freshman signing class.
 
"I couldn't be more pleased with the incoming freshman class," Head Coach Bucky McMillan said. "I think this will be one of the better Freshman classes in the history of the Samford Men's Basketball Program. Josh, Riley, and Lukas comprise everything we're looking for in a student-athlete at Samford. They are talented, possess great character, value academics, know who they are, and want to win championships. They are extremely talented athletes who have garnered much individual attention for their many on-court accomplishments.
 
Allenspach will join the Bulldogs from Providence Day School in Cornelius, N.C. A 6-10 center, Allenspach is rated a four-star prospect by ESPN while being ranked the eighth-best player in North Carolina and seventh-best by 247 Sports.
 
Holloway (Memphis, Tenn.) played his prep basketball at Oak Hill Academy in Wilson, Va. In 2022-23. The 6-0 guard averaged 11.4 points, 3.2 assists, and 1.8 steals per game this past season.
 
Walls, who signed with the Bulldogs on Nov. 9, was named the 2023 TSSAA Division II-AA Mr. Basketball winner on Monday, March 13. The 6-4 Knoxville, Tenn. native led Webb School of Knoxville to the Division II-AA semifinals this past season.
 
"What I value most is that they all come from winning cultures and know what it takes to win at a high level," Coach McMillan said. "Their high school and summer basketball programs have tremendous coaches who have prepared them extremely well for this next step. As with all freshmen, our goal for them is to grow personally, academically, and athletically during their time at Samford. I look forward to watching Josh, Riley, and Lukas flourish at Samford.
