GAME NOTES--SAMFORD AT FURMAN (PDF)
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Samford men's basketball team will travel to Greenville, S.C., to take on the Furman Paladins Wednesday evening in a key Southern Conference battle at 6 p.m. (CT) at Timmons Arena.

Samford and Furman have met 35 previous times, with Furman holding a 25-10 series lead. Last season, Furman won both meetings, earning a 91-84 overtime win in Greenville, and a 93-79 win in Birmingham.

Samford enters Wednesday night's game with a mark of 17-2 overall and 6-0 in SoCon play. The Bulldogs earned an 87-80 win over Mercer Saturday. Samford has won its last 17-straight games, setting a new school record for longest win streak. The streak is also the longest current win streak in the nation. This week Samford made history by becoming the first Samford men's basketball team to receive votes in the Associated Press Top 25 poll. Additionally, Samford head coach

The Furman Paladins enter Wednesday night's game with a record of 10-9 overall and 4-2 in Southern Conference play. Furman most recently played host to Western Carolina on Saturday, earning a 65-62 win over the Catamounts.

Furman has been led by Marcus Foster, averaging 19.0 points per game, and grabbing 6.3 rebounds per game. J.P. Pegues is averaging 17.1 points and 4.6 rebounds per game for the Paladins.
