GAME NOTES--SAMFORD AT ETSU (PDF)

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Samford men's basketball team will travel to Johnson City, Tenn., to take on the ETSU Bucs Saturday at 3 p.m. (CT) at Freedom Hall.
 
Samford and ETSU have met 20 previous times, with the Bucs holding a 16-4 series lead. Last season, Samford won both meetings, earning a 69-59 win on the road and a 73-62 win at home.
 
Samford enters Saturday's game with a mark of 17-3 overall and 6-1 in SoCon play. The Bulldogs fell at Furman, 78-68, Wednesday night. The loss snapped Samford's school-record 17-game win streak, the longest streak in the nation so far this season.
 
Entering Saturday's game, Samford is led by junior Achor Achor, averaging 16.9 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, leading the team in both categories. Junior A.J. Staton-McCray is averaging 13.4 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. Rylan Jones leads the team in assists, dishing out 5.5 assists per contest.
 
Entering this game, the Bulldogs rank third in the nation in scoring offense, averaging 89.3 points per game. Samford also ranks in the top 10 in the nation in fastbreak points per game (3rd-18.05), steals per game (3rd-11.5), three-point percentage (5th-40.3), assists per game (T-6th-19.1), turnovers forced per game (T-5th-18.00), bench points per game (6th-36.15), three-pointers per game (10th-10.4) and winning percentage (T-10th-85.0).
 
Samford currently leads the Southern Conference in scoring (89.3 ppg.), scoring margin (+13.9), field goal percentage (.491), three-point field goal percentage (.403), three-pointers made per game (10.4), turnover margin (4.00), assists (19.05 pg.) and steals (11.45 pg.).
 
The ETSU Bucs enter Saturday's game with a record of 10-10 overall and 2-5 in Southern Conference play. The Bucs most recently played at VMI Wednesday night. ETSU earned a dramatic 74-73 win over the Keydets.
 
ETSU has been led so far this season by Jaden Seymour, averaging 15.5 rebounds and 6.6 rebounds per game. Ebby Asamoah averages 15.2 points per game for the Bucs. Quimari Peters has an average of 13.9 points per contest so far this season.
