JONESBORO, Ark. – The Samford women's golf team finished fifth, and two Bulldogs finished in the top 10, at the Lady Red Wolves Classic, held Monday and Tuesday at Sage Meadows GCS.
As a team, Samford shot a three-round score of 895 (299-298-298) to place fifth in the 17-team tournament. Louisiana-Monroe won the event with a final score of 869 (285-295-289).
A pair of Samford players finished in the top 10 in the 96-player field.
Gabi Nicastro tied for sixth with a three-round total of 218 (77-70-71).
Anika Richards finished in a tie for eighth with a final score of 219 (72-72-75).
Christian Williams tied for 45
th at 229 (75-78-76), while
Grace Engel tied for 58
th with a score of 231 (75-78-78) and
Morgan Franklin tied for 67
th at 234 (80-78-76).
Ella Stoll played as an individual, finishing in a tie for 64
th at 233 (75-79-79).
Samford will next play in the Terrier Intercollegiate, scheduled for Oct.21-22 in Spartanburg, S.C.
