SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Samford women's golf team won the Terrier Intercollegiate, hosted by Wofford College, Monday and Tuesday at The Carolina Country Club.
In addition to the team victory, sophomore
Gabi Nicastro took individual honors. She fired a three-round score of seven-under-par 209 (73-68-68) to finish first in the 71-player field.
As a team, Samford finished with a three-round score of 904 (308-299-297) to place at the top of the 13-team field. Queens University of Charlotte placed second with a final score of 915 (304-307-304).
Behind Nicastro for Samford,
Christian Williams shot one-under-par 71 in Tuesday's final round to tie for ninth with a three-round total of 230 (83-76-71).
Grace Engel tied for 15
th with a final tally of 233 (78-76-79), while
Anika Richards tied for 26
th at 237 (74-84-79).
Morgan Franklin tied for 40
th at 242 (83-79-80).
Samford will wrap up its fall season by competing in the Mercer Invitational, Oct. 28-29, in Macon, Ga.
