BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford volleyball team will wrap up the regular season by hosting UNC Greensboro Friday at 6:30 p.m., and The Citadel Saturday at 5 p.m., both in the Pete Hanna Center.
For the season, Samford has been led offensively by
Kaleigh Meritt with 317 kills, and she ranks third in the Southern Conference in kills per set at 3.56.
Gracie Lynn Butler has 290 kills, while
Ally Cordes has 206 kills on the season. Additionally,
Kate Wonus has tallied 163 kills so far this season.
Also,
Lexi Thatcher leads the team and the Southern Conference in assists per set, averaging 10.45 per set.
Kate Morgan leads the team in digs with 354 on the season. She ranks 10th in the SoCon in digs per set, averaging 3.91 digs per set. Behind Morgan, Merritt has contributed 256 digs, while Cordes has 221 digs.
Samford and UNC Greensboro have played 33 previous times, with the Bulldogs holding a 23-10 series lead. Earlier this season, the teams met in Greensboro, with UNCG picking up a 3-1 win.
Samford and The Citadel have played 30 previous times, with Samford owning a 24-6 series lead. Earlier this season, Samford earned a 3-0 win over The Citadel in Charleston.
