BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –Each week during the 2024 season, we will release The Chris Hatcher Show. The show, which this week is hosted by Blake Gardner and features head football coach Chris Hatcher, will look back at the previous week's football game and look forward to the upcoming contest.
 
Last week, the Bulldogs stepped out of Southern Conference play, falling to Tennessee Tech, 27-7 at Pete Hanna Stadium.
 
Samford quarterback Quincy Crittendon completed 22-of-32 passes for 165 yards, one touchdown and one interception against the Golden Eagles. D.J. Rias caught four passes for 78 yards and a touchdown. Noah Martin led the Samford defense with nine tackles.
 
This week, the Bulldogs (3-6, 2-3 SoCon) will play their final road game of the 2024 season when they play at 19^th-ranked Chattanooga (6-4, 5-2 SoCon) Saturday at 12:30 p.m. (CT) at UTC's Finley Stadium.
 
Samford and Chattanooga are meeting for the 49th time, with Chattanooga leading the series, 34-11-3. Last season, Chattanooga earned a 47-24 win at Pete Hanna Stadium. Samford's last win in the series came during the 2022 season with the Bulldogs picking up a 35-24 win over the Mocs at Finley Stadium on their way to the Southern Conference title.
