SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford outside hitters Gracie Lynn Butler and Kaleigh Meritt both earned postseason honors when the Southern Conference released its postseason volleyball All-Conference teams Thursday morning.
 
Butler was named first team All-SoCon, while Meritt earned second team honors.
 
Butler ranks fourth in the Southern Conference in kills per set at 3.31, tallying 328 total kills. She also contributed 227 digs this season. For the year, Butler had 13 double-doubles.
 
Meritt currently sits in third in the SoCon in killer per set with an average of 3.55, contributing 344 kills. During the season, she tallied 12 double-doubles, and she finished the regular season with 283 digs.
 
Samford will open play in the Southern Conference Tournament by taking on The Citadel Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. (CT) in Spartanburg, S.C.
