FULL SCHEDULE
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Games against defending national champion Tennessee, and SEC foes Auburn, Alabama and Mississippi State highlight the Samford baseball program's 2025 schedule, released today.
"We have put together another incredibly challenging schedule this spring," Samford head coach Tony David said. "Throughout the season it's one outstanding opponent after another. A three-game set at the defending champs in Knoxville will be one of the best environments we have played in and against the best of the best inTennessee. We host Evansville, who Tennessee had to beat in the Super Regionals to make it to the World Series. It is 12 games against teams that made the NCAA's last year, six against Super Regional teams, and three against the champs with eight total against the SEC."
The Bulldogs will open the 2025 season with a home series against Valparaiso, Feb. 14-16, followed by a midweek road game at Jacksonville State on Feb. 18. The Bulldogs will then travel to Knoxville, Tenn., for a three-game weekend series at defending national champion Tennessee, Feb. 21-23.
Samford will then play at Auburn on Feb. 25. The Bulldogs will then return home for a four-game series with Kennesaw State, Feb. 28-Mar. 2. Samford will then travel to Carrollton, Ga., to take on new Division I program West Georgia on Mar. 4, before playing a three-game weekend series at former OVC rival UT Martin, Mar. 7-9. On Mar. 11, Samford will wrap up its five-game road swing with a game at North Alabama.
Next up, the Bulldogs will host Evansville in a three-game series, Mar. 14-16, before hosting in-state rival Jacksonville State, Mar. 18.
"I think it's important to schedule tough," David said. "We recruit to the schedule we are going to play against the teams these guys want to play and in great venues. I think these games and opponents help us get better and is an important piece to the team development part of our year. This type of schedule will help us be the best team we can be when SoCon play rolls around and battle tested for postseason."
