GAME NOTES--SAMFORD AT WOFFORD (PDF)
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's basketball team will travel to Spartanburg, S.C., to take on the Wofford Terriers Wednesday evening at 5 p.m. (CT). The game can be seen live on ESPN+.
Samford and Wofford have met 30 previous times, with the Terriers holding a 22-8 series lead. Earlier this season, Samford earned a dramatic, 81-79 win over Wofford in the Pete Hanna Center.
Samford enters Wednesday's game with a mark of 25-4 overall and 14-2 in SoCon play. The Bulldogs most recently played host to ETSU Saturday, picking up an 87-71 win over the Bucs. Samford's 25 wins are tied for the most wins in program history. Samford has already sewn up the SoCon regular-season title and the No. 1 seed for next week's SoCon Tournament.
Entering Wednesday night's game,
Jaden Campbell has been hot lately. He delivered a career-high 28 points in Saturday's win over ETSU, and he averages 11.5 points per game.
Jermaine Marshall averages 11.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. He recently passed the 1,000-career point mark and now has 1,012 points in his collegiate career.
Rylan Jones leads the team in assists, dishing out 5.1 assists per contest.
Entering this week, the Bulldogs rank third in the nation in three-point percentage, making 40.2 percent of their attempts from beyond the arc. Samford also ranks in the top 10 in the nation in scoring offense (4th-87.3), fastbreak points per game (2nd-16.55), steals per game (6th-10.5), bench points per game (5th-34.78), assists per game (6th-18.2), turnovers forced per game (6th-17.10) and winning percentage (7th-86.2).
Samford currently leads the Southern Conference in scoring (87.3 ppg.), scoring margin (+13.5), field goal percentage (.497), three-point field goal percentage (.402), turnover margin (4.00), assist-turnover ratio (1.39), assists (18.24 pg.) and steals (10.52 pg.).
The Wofford Terriers enter Wednesday night's game with a record of 15-14 overall and 8-8 in Southern Conference play. The Terriers most recently played at Furman on Saturday. Wofford fell to the Paladins by a score of 82-67.
Wofford has been led so far this season by Corey Tripp, averaging 15.7 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. Dillon Bailey averages 11.7 points per game for the Terriers. Kyler Filewich is the team's leading rebounder, pulling down 9.0 board per contest, while also averaging 9.4 points per game.
