BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's and women's track and field teams swept the Southern Conference Outdoor Championships for the fourth-straight season at Shauna Yelton Field at The Samford Track and Soccer Stadium on Tuesday. 
 
The men's team scored 217 points to win its fourth-straight title. The women's squad captured the title for the fifth-straight year with 212.5 points. The men were followed by VMI (133) and Furman (100) while the Wofford (130) and Western Carolina (07.5) finished behind the Bulldog women. 
 
Samford student-athletes won a total of 16 events during the two-day meet. Hannah Daffin highlighted the women's winners nabbing first place in the Hammer throw (51.50m) and the shot put (13.74m). On the men's side, seven different Bulldogs captured top billing while also capturing the 4x100 Relay (William Malcolm, Evan Brooks, Tyke Tabor, Cagan Campbell, 40.77)
 
Additionally, Samford won titles in the men Javelin throw (Kyle Kaufelds, 62.40m), women's long jump (Kyle Kaufelds, 62.40m), men's shot put (Carl Henry, 15.38m), women's discus throw (Emma Nolte, 42.89m), men's high jump (Jaggerd Moore, 2.03m), women' 1500 meter (Adeline Haisch, 4:27.31), men's 110 meter hurdles (Titus Moore, 13.92), women's 100 meter hurdles (Amiel Dabney, 13.85), men's 100 meter hurdles (Titus Moore, 13.92), men's 400 meter (Cagan Campbell, 47.09), men's 800 meter (Zephaniah Carico-McLennan, 1:49.14), men, 400 meter hurdles (Jackson Olivo, 52.89) and 4x400 Relay (Cagan Campbell, Zephaniah Carico-McLennan, Jackson Olivo, Tyke Tabor, 3:10.43).
 
Daffin was named the women's most outstanding athlete while Campbell took home the men's most outstanding athlete award. Andrew McGinnis earned the Pinnacle Award for the highest GPA on the men's team, while Savannah Schmidt won the Pinnacle Award on the women's side. 
 
Samford will next compete in the Lee University Last Chance Meet on Sunday, May 12.
