Oates Concludes Competition At Olympic Trials

EUGENE, Ore.– Former Samford field athlete Tray Oates participated in the men's pole vault final on Sunday evening at the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials.
 
Oates failed to make the starting height of 5.47m on three separate occasions and finished the finals with a no height.
 
Sam Kendricks, Chris Nilsen and Jacob Wooten finished in the top three and will represent the United States at the Olympic Games in Paris.
 
Current Bulldog track great Zephaniah Carico-McLennan is slated to participate in the men's 800m preliminaries on Thursday, June 27 at 6:30 p.m. CT.  Semifinals will take place on June 28 with the finals scheduled for June 30.
