SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Samford leads the Southern Conference with 100 representatives on the Spring Academic All-SoCon team, released by the league Thursday afternoon.

To be eligible for the Academic All-SoCon team, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.3 cumulative grade-point average at the conclusion of the spring semester and were required to compete in at least one-half of their teams' competitions during the recently concluded campaign. In addition, the student-athletes must have successfully completed at least three semesters at their institutions, making true freshmen and first-year transfers ineligible for inclusion.

The Samford women's indoor and outdoor track and field teams led all Bulldog teams with 18 representatives each. The baseball team had 12 players on the team, followed by softball with nine and men's indoor and outdoor track and field with eight apiece.

The women's basketball squad had seven representatives, with women's golf and women's tennis placing five each on the team. Men's golf and men's tennis had four members on the team each, with men's basketball putting three representatives on the team.
