GAME NOTES--SAMFORD VS. UNCG (PDF)

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –  The Samford soccer team will go back on the road to play at the UNC Greensboro Spartans in the regular-season finale for both teams Sunday at 1 p.m. (CT). The game can be seen live on ESPN+.
 
Samford and UNCG are meeting for the 22nd time, with Samford owning a 14-5-2 series lead. Last season, Samford earned a 2-1 win in the regular season and then another 2-1 win in the quarterfinals of the Southern Conference Tournament at Shauna Yelton Field.
 
Samford enters Sunday's game with a record of 9-2-5 overall and 6-0-2 in SoCon play. The Bulldogs played host to ETSU last Sunday, winning, 3-0. Samford is unbeaten in its last 13 games. Samford has earned a share of the SoCon regular-season championship already, but the Bulldogs can earn the title outright with either a win or a tie on Sunday.

Samford has been led so far this season by Sam De Luca with 12 goals and three assists for 27 total points. She leads the SoCon and is tied for 11th in the nation in goals scored and she leads the SoCon in points. Martha Bishop has four goals and two assists, while Sarah Holland has three goals and four assists. Clare Nicholas has three goals and three assists.

Samford goalkeeper Peyton Hull has posted a goals against average of 0.81 with 63 saves in 1440 minutes in goal. She leads the nation in shutouts with 10.
 
UNC Greensboro comes into Sunday's game with a mark of 3-10-3 overall and 2-3-3 in the Southern Conference. The Spartans are coming off a 4-2 loss at Western Carolina last Sunday.

UNCG has been led so far this season by Rina Ogimato with five goals and two assists for 12 total points. UNC Greensboro goalkeeper Emma Malone has a goals against average of 2.01 with 55 saves in 1252 minutes in goal.
