HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Samford cross country team wrapped up its season today at the NCAA South Regional Championships. The Bulldogs sent
Felicity Hamilton to run in the women's 6k race and five runners on the men's side to compete in the 10k race.
The event started with the women's 6k race in the morning as Samford sent out their top runner all season,
Felicity Hamilton. In a field of 201 runners, Hamilton finished 53rd with a time of 20:46.05. The time marks a personal record for the Samford sophomore who beat her time in the South Regional last season by 50 seconds.Â
In the men's race, the Bulldogs finished 23rd out of the 27-team field.
David Brown was the top runner for the Dogs once again as he finished in 89th out of the 192 runners who finished the race. He set a PR in the 10k with his time of 31:51.43. Freshman
Loden Kohrman was the second fastest Samford runner, coming in 115th, and was followed by
William Jordan, who finished 118th as he set his 10k record with a time of 32:36.78.
Stephen Jones and
Reese Bell were the next Bulldogs to cross the line as they came in 158th and 166th, respectively.
The Samford cross country season ends after five meets this season as they turn their attention to distance track, which begins for the Bulldogs on Dec. 5
