GAME NOTES--SAMFORD AT JAX STATE (PDF)

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –  The Samford soccer team will travel to Jacksonville, Alabama, to take on the Jacksonville State Gamecocks Thursday evening at 6 p.m. The game can be seen live on ESPN+.

Samford and Jacksonville State have played 20 previous times, with Samford owning a 14-5-1 series lead. The last time the teams played in the regular season was in 2023, with Samford earning a 6-0 at home. The teams met in an exhibition game last season, ending in a 1-1 tie. Samford and JSU were co-members of the OVC from 2003 to 2008.

Samford has an all-time record of 26-14-3 against the current members of Conference USA. Samford has played the following Conference USA teams: Florida International (1-0), Jacksonville State (14-5-1), Kennesaw State (7-5), Middle Tennessee (1-3-2) and Western Kentucky (3-1).  
 
Samford enters Thursday night's game with a record of 0-2-1. The Bulldogs fell to Alabama, 3-1 Sunday afternoon at Shauna Yelton Field.

So far this season, Sam De Luca, Clare Nicholas and Avery Stevens have one goal each. Isa Moreno and Sarah Holland have an assist each for the Bulldogs. Samford goalkeeper Peyton Hull has posted a goals against average of 2.00 in 270 minutes in goal. She has saved seven shots and has posted one shutout in a 0-0 draw at Auburn.

Jacksonville State enters Thursday night's game with a record of 1-2-2. The Gamecocks are coming off a 1-1 tie against UNC Asheville last Sunday.

So far this season, Jacksonville State has been led by Kaia Elverum, Louise Featherstone, Amelia Jacobs and Emma Reeder with one goal each.
