GAME NOTES--SAMFORD AT UAB (PDF)
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford soccer team will play at cross-town rival UAB Sunday evening at 7 p.m. at PNC Park. The game can be seen live on ESPN+.
Samford and UAB have met 11 previous times, with the series tied at 4-4-3. Last season, the teams played to a 3-3 draw at Shauna Yelton Field. Each team has scored a combined 12 goals in the previous 11 meetings.
Samford enters Sunday night's game with a record of 3-2-2. The Bulldogs are coming off a 0-0 draw at Belmont Thursday evening.
So far this season,
Sam De Luca leads Samford with three goals and one assist for a total of seven points.
Martha Bishop and
Sarah Holland have a goal and an assist each.
Brooklyn Miller,
Clare Nicholas,
Avery Stevens and
Becca Koenig have one goal apiece so far this season. Samford goalkeeper
Peyton Hull has posted a goals against average of 0.86 in 630 minutes in goal.
UAB enters Sunday night's game with a record of 3-2-3 overall and 0-0-1 in AAC play. The Blazers are coming off a 3-3 tie with Rice Thursday evening.
UAB has been led so far this season by Jette Zimmer with three goals and three assists for nine total points. Avery Berryman has three goals and two assists for eight points. UAB goalkeeper Leah Parsons has a 1.12 goals against average in 720 minutes of playing time.
