SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford sophomore setter Shea Bruntmyer was named the Southern Conference Setter of the Week when the league released its weekly volleyball awards Monday afternoon.

Bruntmyer tallied 42 assists in Samford's 3-2 win over Tennessee Tech Saturday night. In Samford's Friday night win over Radford, she recorded 39 assists and three aces in the victory. For the two matches last week, Meritt had a total of 81 kills.

Next up, Samford will host the Alabama Challenge where they will take on South Alabama, Auburn and UAB. The first match is scheduled for Thursday night against South Alabama at 6:30 p.m.
