SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford junior outside hitter
Kaleigh Meritt was named the Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Week when the league released its weekly volleyball awards Monday afternoon.
Meritt led Samford to a 3-2 win over Winthrop Thursday night, tying a career high with 32 kills. She also had 15 digs in the victory. For the two matches last week, Meritt had 38 kills and 19 digs.
Next up, Samford will play at North Alabama on Tuesday, Sept. 9. The match is set for a 6 p.m. start from Florence, Ala.
