BIRMINGHAM, Ala.— The Samford baseball program will hold its annual First Pitch Dinner on Feb. 1, at 6 p.m. in the Coca Cola Hospitality room in the Pete Hanna Center, head coach Tony David announced Monday.
The dinner is open to all Diamond Society Booster Club members. The event is held each year as a kick start to the upcoming season and a show of appreciation for the program's booster club.
"Our Diamond Society is the heart and soul of our baseball program operations," David said. "Without the generosity and shared love the members of this group have for our program and university as a whole, it would be impossible to compete at the level our guys do. We are proud of the consistent success the baseball program has had over the years and recognize wholeheartedly that it would not be possible without the Diamond Society."
The Diamond Society is made up of alumni, current and past player's parents, friends and general supporters of the program.
The dinner is open to all Diamond Society members and will include a great deal of information on the state of the baseball program, additions and changes since last season ended, update on the facility and roster and a detailed preview of the upcoming baseball season.
