BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford men's basketball team returns to play in the Southern Conference as the Bulldogs hit to road to face Wofford Wednesday night. The game is set for a 5 p.m. tip, as Samford enters with a 9-10 record overall and 2-4 in SoCon play while Wofford enters with a 12-7 mark on the season.
The Dogs and the Terriers are meeting for the 34th time, with Wofford leading the series 23-10. Samford defeated the Terriers in both games last season.
The Bulldogs are coming off a tough stretch, hosting two of the top sides in the league in Furman and ETSU. The Bulldogs narrowly dropped both games, including falling at the buzzer in their last game to the Buccaneers 76-75.
Jadin Booth led the way for Samford with 19 points against ETSU.
Cade Norris scored a career-high 16 points, all of his points coming in the second half.
Keaton Norris went 2-for-5 from deep including what appeared to be the potential game winner with seven seconds left. After their worst shooting performance of the season from three against Furman, 5-of-20, the Dogs bounced back against ETSU where they hit 14-of-32 attempts. Samford has dropped three games in a row, but by a total margin of just 14 points.
Wofford sits at 4-2 in league play, after defeating Furman at home 74-70 in their last contest. The Terriers are 6-2 at home this season under first-year head coach Kevin Giltner. Wofford was picked to finish ninth in the league in the Preseason Coaches Poll and are led by Kahmare Holmes and Nils Machowski who each average over 16 points per game.
