GAME NOTES -- Samford at The Citadel (PDF)

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford men's basketball team is back in action tomorrow night as they take their five-game winning streak into a road game against The Citadel. Tip is set for 6 p.m. as Samford enters the game with a 15-12 record overall and are 8-6 in Southern Conference play while The Citadel sits at 9-18 and 6-8 in league play.

Samford and Citadel are meeting for the 35th time, with Samford holding a 21-13 series lead. Samford defeated The Citadel 78-64 in Birmingham when the sides met earlier this season.

The Bulldogs are on a five-game winning streak in the conference after defeating Western Carolina, The Citadel, Mercer, Wofford, and ETSU. SU is coming off an 82-72 overtime win over first-place ETSU in their last game. Dylan Faulkner led the way with 24 points and 10 rebounds for his seventh-straight double-double. Jadin Booth had 19 points and added a season-high four steals on the defensive end. Cade Norris has been on a tear the last two games, scoring 17 and 14 points in wins over the top two teams in the SoCon. The Dogs outscored the Buccaneers 14-4 in the overtime session to pull away for the win. The Dogs are in a tie for fourth in the conference with Furman and UNCG after defeating the top three teams in consecutive games.

The Citadel enters the game with a 9-18 record on the season and is 6-8 in SoCon play. The Bulldogs are coming off a 70-54 defeat against Mercer in their last game. The Citadel is tied for seventh in the SoCon with Western Carolina. Head coach Ed Conroy is in his eighth season at The Citadel, leading the Bulldogs to more wins than they have had last season The Citadel was picked to finish 10th in the SoCon Preseason Coaches Poll. Braxton Williams leads them in scoring at 13.1 points per game.
