BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford sophomore
Bradley Franklin has qualified for the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships in the men's 60-meter hurdles after an impressive performance at last week's SoCon Championships.
Franklin will compete in the men's 60-meter hurdles at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Ark., Mar. 13-14. The semifinals of the event are scheduled for Friday, Mar. 13, at 6:55 p.m. and the finals will be held on Saturday, Mar. 14, at 6 p.m.
Franklin was named the Heath Whittle Most Outstanding Athlete Award winner after scoring 20 points at the SoCon Championships last week. Franklin ran the 60-meter hurdles in a meet record 7.45 seconds on day one and then broke his own record with a time of 7.41 seconds in the final to win his second straight SoCon title in the event. His time currently ranks No. 1 in NCAA Division I.
