TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Samford track and field teams competed in the Crimson Tide Invitational, held Friday at the University of Alabama.
Samford student-athletes took first place in four different events at the meet.
Bradley Franklin earned the win in the men's 110-meter hurdles, running the race in 13.58 seconds.
Felicity Hamilton won the women's 5000 meters with a time of 16:32.24.
Zephaniah Carico-McLennan took first place in the men's 800 meters, running the race in 1:47.49.
Jess Edwards won the women's 800 meters with a time of 2:04.45.
Additionally, the men's 4x100-meter relay team of
Ty Watkins,
Caleb Yeary,
Chase Webb and
Cole Grande finished third with a time of 40.57 seconds.
Kiera-Lee Abrahams came in third in the women's long jump with a leap of 5.99 meters.
Arthur Chitty finished second in the men's high jump at 2.10 meters.
Kyle Kaufelds came in second in the men's javelin throw at 63.99 meters. The men's 4x400-meter relay team of
Samuel Werner, Carcio-McLennan,
Mac Meredith and Grande finished third with a time of 3:10.65.
Next up, Samford will compete in the Georgia Tech Invitational and the Tom Jones Invitational at the University of Florida next weekend.
