BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford men's basketball team finalized its 2026-27 schedule today as head coach Lennie Acuff announced three exhibition games against in-state opponents. The Bulldogs will play Alabama A&M, Jacksonville State, and Auburn prior to beginning their 32-game regular-season campaign.

Exhibition play begins on Oct. 13, when Samford will face Alabama A&M at Ballin In Boutwell for the second straight season. The Dogs then travel to face Jacksonville State on Oct. 26 and Auburn on Oct. 29 in exhibition games. 

"Thankful to get our 2026-27 schedule finalized for our fans and the people that support Samford basketball," said head coach Lennie Acuff. "We are thankful to be invited back to Ballin In Boutwell for another year where we face Alabama A&M. Then we head to Jacksonville State, a team that is always a factor in Conference USA. We will go down to Auburn, thankful to Coach Pearl for giving us that opportunity against an SEC team that will test us in every way. Glad to have an in-state flavor to the schedule that will generate interest with our fans and in the state. We will know a lot more about our team after the three exhibition games."

The Bulldogs remain in-state when the regular season begins as they travel to face UAB on Dec. 2 and at Alabama on Dec. 29. Samford also has 16 home games inside the Pete Hanna Center with their home opener on Nov. 2 against Berry and their home finale on Feb. 24 against Mercer. Big games for the Bulldogs at home in the non-conference include a 23-win and NCAA Tournament team in Wright State on Nov. 13 and UNC Asheville on Nov. 22.
