Hull Named SoCon Defensive Player Of The Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford junior goalkeeper Peyton Hull was named the Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Week when the league released its weekly women's soccer awards Tuesday afternoon.

In Samford's lone game last week, Hull posted her fifth shutout of the season in a 2-0 win over Mercer. In the victory, she saved four shots in posting the clean sheet.

For the season, Hull has posted a 0.51 goals against average, the best average in the SoCon. She has allowed just five goals in 10 games.

Samford will host Wofford on Thursday, Oct. 1. The game is set for a 6 p.m. start from Shauna Yelton Field.
