Biography

Don Scott enters his second year at Samford and his first as marketing coordinator. In his new position, Scott will be responsible for marketing and game operations for football, men[apos]s and women[apos]s basketball and baseball. Scott spent his first year at Samford serving as the director of ticket sales and customer service. In his previous job, he was responsible for all ticket sales and promotions and customer service. Scott comes to Samford after working as an account executive at al.com since December 2009. Prior to his time at al.com, Scott worked as an associate general manager at ISP Sports, working with the UAB athletics department from January 2007 to October 2009. He made a major impact, increasing business by 45 percent and growing $100,000 in new business, including clients such as State Farm, Alabama Department of Public Health, Supreme Beverage and Milo[apos]s. Scott served as the exclusive seller of UAB athletics, including radio, television, in-stadium and arena signage, UABSports.com, game entitlements, rights/marks and hospitality. Before his stint at UAB, Scott spent six years in New York City working for Fox Cable Networks and Winnercomm Sports Sales. Scott is a 1999 graduate of Denison University with a B.A. degree in history and a minor in physical education.
