SPARTANBURG, S.C.—Samford placed 10 players on the Southern Conference's Football Coaches' Preseason All-Conference team, released by the league at its annual Football Media Day Wednesday afternoon.
The SoCon also released its preseason polls for both the coaches and media. Samford tied for second in the preseason coaches' polls, and the Bulldogs placed third in the media's preseason poll. Chattanooga was picked as the preseason favorite in both polls. In the coaches' polls, Furman tied with Samford for second, and the Paladins were picked second in the media poll.
Five Samford players made the first team of the Preseason All-Conference team. Offensive lineman
Gunnar Bromelow, defensive back
James Bradberry, safety
Jaquiski Tartt, place-kicker

Greg Peranich were all named to the first team.
Samford's representatives on the second team were offensive lineman
C.H. Scruggs, tight end
Tony Philpot, wide receiver
