NCAA Pairings Viewing Party To Be Held Monday In Samford Cafeteria

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford women's basketball program will host a viewing party for the NCAA Tournament pairings Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the Samford Cafeteria.

The selection show, which will air live on ESPN, will begin at 6 p.m. The Bulldogs will find out who and where they will play in the first round of the NCAA Tournament during the show on Monday.

The first 100 guests who register with the athletics department outside the cafeteria entrance will receive a free meal. The ticket table will open at 5:15 p.m. Also, the Samford bookstore will have NCAA Tournament t-shirts for sale at the event.

The Samford women's basketball team qualified for the NCAA Tournament by winning its second-straight Southern Conference Tournament championship with a 54-43 win over Appalachian State on March 5.

The Bulldogs enter the NCAA Tournament with a record of 20-12. Samford has won at least 20 games in the last five-straight seasons and in six of the last seven seasons.

Last season, the Bulldogs qualified for the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history. This marks the third-straight season the Samford women's basketball team has earned a bid to a national postseason tournament. In addition to the two NCAA Tournament bids, the Bulldogs earned a WNIT bid following the 2009-10 season.
