FINAL RESULTS
FRANKLIN, Tenn.— The Samford men's golf team finished 14
th in the Mason Rudolph Men's Golf Championship held at the Vanderbilt Legends Club, Saturday and Sunday.
Samford finished with a team score of 911 (301-311-299), to come in 14
th. The host team, ninth-ranked Vanderbilt won the event with a score of 847 (275-291-281). The 19
th-ranked Florida Gators came in second at 848 (283-286-279), while 17
th-ranked Alabama finished third with a score of 861 (282-291-288).
Individually, senior
Zach Hughes led Samford, finishing in a tie for 14
th in the 78-player field. Hughes finished with a final, three-round score of 218 (70-75-73).
Ivan Truss tied for 42
nd with a score of 224 (70-79-75), while
Crawford Flach finished in a tie for 62
nd at 232 (81-77-74).
Ashton Nix tied for 73
rd with a three-round total of 237 (80-80-77).
Aaron Walker finished 75
th overall at 242 (81-83-78).
Jackson Seawell, playing as an individual, tied with Nix for 73
rd at 237 (80-81-76).
Sam Horsfield of Florida, ranked sixth in the GolfStat rankings, won individual medalist honors with a score of 206 (70-70-66). Gordon Neale, also of Florida, came in second at 208 (70-68-70).
Samford will wrap up the 2015-16 season at the Southern Conference Championships, scheduled for April 24-26, in Pinehurst, N.C.
