MOBILE, Ala. – The Samford men's golf team finished seventh at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate, held Monday and Tuesday at Magnolia Grove.
As a team, Samford fired a three-round score of 15-over-par 867 (281-294-292), placing seventh in the 13-team field. South Alabama won the tournament with a final score of 826 (272-277-277).
Individually for Samford's playing five,
Gavin Isbell tied for 11
th in the 81-player field, posting a three-round score of 211 (68-74-69).
Jack Mikesell tied for 31
st at 216 (70-73-73), while
Blake Gayles tied for 38
th with a score of 218 (70-74-74).
Matthew Smith finished in a tie for 61
st with a score of 225 (72-76-76).
Nolen Wolfe tied for 66
th at 227 (77-73-73).
Tiaan Hugo, playing as an individual with his score not counting toward the team total, tied for 45
th with a three-round score of 219 (74-72-73).
Next up, Samford will compete in the Wofford Invitational, April 12-13, in Spartanburg, S.C.
