BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford baseball team overcame an early four-run deficit to take a 13-6 victory over the UNC Asheville Bulldogs Saturday afternoon at Joe Lee Griffin Field. With the win, Samford secures the series win over UNCA, with one game remaining.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- UNC Asheville took an early 4-0 lead with two runs in the first inning and two more in the second.
- Samford plated two runs in the third inning and one in the fourth to cut the lead to 4-3.
- After UNCA pushed its lead to 5-3 in the top of the fifth, Samford knotted the score at 5-5 with two runs in the bottom of the fifth when Sonny DiChiara drove in Towns King, and Kaden Dreier scored on an error.
- UNCA retook the lead at 6-5 in the top of the sixth, but Samford took the lead for good with three runs in the bottom of the inning. Brooks Carlson drove in two runs in the inning, and Dreier drove in one as Samford took the 8-6 lead.
- Samford put the game away by plating five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to make the final score 13-6.
