HOW IT HAPPENED
- Samford took the early lead when Kaden Dreier singled to drive in Brooks Carlson for a 1-0 Bulldog lead in the top of the first inning.
- In the third inning, Sonny DiChiara hit a sacrifice fly to drive in Max Pinto for a 2-0 Samford advantage.
- MTSU tied the game with a run in the fourth inning and another in the fifth, knotting the score at 2-2.
- Will David doubled to drive in Taylor Garris and Ryan Crockett for a 4-2 Samford lead in the sixth inning.
- Samford pushed its lead to 5-2 when DiChiara singled to drive in David in the top of the ninth inning.
- The Blue Raiders plated one final run in the bottom of the ninth inning to make the final score 5-3.
ON THE MOUND
- Charles Crosby (1-0) earned the win on the mound for Samford, tossing 2.2 innings in relief, allowing no runs on three hits.
- Carson Cupo pitched the final inning to pick up his first save of the season.
