BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's soccer team made it five in row in league play as the Bulldogs (8-3-2, 5-0 SoCon) defeated the Wofford Terriers (3-10, 1-3 SoCon), 3-1, at Shauna Yelton Field on Friday, Oct. 8. The victory kept the Bulldogs, who are seeking their eighth consecutive regular season conference title, a full game in front of the pack in the SoCon standings.

KEY PLAYS:
- The Samford Bulldogs opened the match in the 9th minute, as Taylor Yount blasted a shot off the Terrier's keeper Caroline Doss for the 1-0 lead. The goal was the fourth of the season for the junior from Cape Coral, Florida.
- Samford took a 2-0 lead off Kylie Gazza's header in the 24th minute. Gazza's effort came off of an assist by Alyssa Frazier, who delivered the ball into the box off a corner. The goal was the fourth on the season for the sophomore from Cumming, Georgia.
- Mary Raymond extended Samford's lead to 3-0 in the 57th minute, as the junior from Palm Harbor, Fla., notched her fourth goal of the season in the bottom right corner. Alyssa Frazier and Alyssa Conarton assisted on the score.
- Wofford scored their lone goal off McKenzie Guess's header in the 86th minute to cut the deficit to 3-1. Addie Marlett provided the assist.
FROM THE BOX SCORE:
- Samford dominated play in the match, recording 21 shots with nine on goal. Wofford managed a mere seven shots with five on goal.
- Frazier finished the night with a game-high two assists, moving her season total to six on the year.
- Morgan McAslan played all 90 minutes in goal, recording four saves for the Bulldogs.
- Caroline Doss faced 21 shots while making six saves.
