Justin Stuckey will attempt to qualify for the 2021 U.S. Olympic team by competing in the high jump in the Olympic Trials this weekend at historic Hayward Field on the campus of the University of Oregon.

A total of 24 athletes will compete in two pits, competing concurrently, in Friday's qualifying round. The top 12 from Friday's competition advance to Sunday's finals, with the top three in the finals making the Olympic squad.
Stuckey had a stellar season during the 2021 indoor and outdoor campaigns. The Helena, Ala., native earned first team All-America honors in the high jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships, and he earned second team All-America recognition at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the same event.
He won the SoCon Indoor title with a height of 2.17 meters (7' 1.5"), and he then placed sixth at the NCAA Indoor Championships, jumping 2.18 meters (7' 1.75").
Stuckey won the SoCon Outdoor championship with a leap of 2.19 meters (7' 2.25"). He then qualified for the NCAA Championships with a height of 2.16 meters (7' 1"), placing ninth at the NCAA East Preliminaries. At the NCAA Championships, he came in 15
th with a jump of 2.15 meters (7' 0.5").
Stuckey qualified for the trials with his jump at the War Eagle Invitational earlier this season, when he had a leap of 2.21 meters (7' 3"), his personal best.
Stuckey is one of three athletes with Samford ties to qualify for the Olympic Trials in track and field. Last week, former Bulldogs
Karisa Nelson (1,500 meters) and Tray Oates (pole vault) competed in the trials.
