SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Samford's Alex Webb and Ashton Domingue were both honored by the Southern Conference when the league released its weekly track and field results Wednesday afternoon.
 
Webb was named the league's Women's Field Athlete of the Week, while Domingue earned Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors.
 
Webb set a new program record in the women's javelin throw at the Bulldog Relays, hosted by Mississippi State last week. She had a throw of 48.66 meters, finishing second in the meet.
 
Domingue has a personal best in the men's javelin throw at the Bulldog Relays. He turned in a performance of 66.30 meters, finishing eighth in the event.
 
Samford will compete in the UAB Multi/Invite, April 7-9 in Birmingham.
