- Samford enters the week with a mark of 17-16 overall and 4-2 in the Southern Conference. The Bulldogs won two-of-three games at Western Carolina over the weekend. The Bulldogs won games two and three, 7-4 and 17-6, after dropping game one, 11-8.Â
- Jacksonville State has a record of 15-18 overall and 9-6 in Atlantic Sun Conference play. The Gamecocks won two-of-three games from Bellarmine last weekend. JSU won the first and third games, 4-2 and 5-1 and dropped game two by a score of 4-3.
- Samford is scheduled to start right-handed pitcher Will Lynch on the mound Tuesday night. Lynch has a record of 0-2 and a 12.79 ERA.
- Jacksonville State is has yet to name a starter for Tuesday night's contest.
- Samford and Jacksonville State have played 85 previous times, with JSU holding a 53-32 series lead. The teams met earlier this season, with the Gamecocks taking a 9-2 win. Samford has won 15 of the last 20 meetings in the series, including both contests last season.
